Notice of Board Vacancy

Lincoln-Pipestone Rural Water System (LPRWS) is seeking to fill a vacancy on the LPRWS Board of Commissioners that will be created beginning January 1, 2027.  The Commissioner District #4 vacancy includes portions of northern Pipestone County (including Altona, Fountain Prairie, Aetna, Troy, Grange, Rock and Burke Townships) and western Murray County (including Ellsborough, Skandia, Cameron, Lowville, Chanarambie, and Leeds Townships).

LPRWS is governed by an 11-member Board of Commissioners that oversees the operation of the public water system by establishing policy and reviewing activity in the areas of operations, development and expansion, budget and finance, personnel, and management.  The Board normally meets on the last Monday of each month starting at 9:30 a.m.  Each Commissioner is also appointed to a committee (budget, personnel, or water resources and equipment) that meets approximately one to three times a year, and there are special Board meetings occasionally.

To apply, send us a letter stating why you are interested in serving along with a description of your experience and qualifications.  Appointment to the Board is made by the District Court based on recommendations from the LPRWS Board and the 10 County Commissions within the System.  Applications must be received by the close of the normal business day (4:30 pm CDT) August 15, 2026, at the LPRWS main office, 1893 County Road 124, PO Box 188, Lake Benton, MN 56149 to be considered.
